OIC’s Garden is Popping!

OIC is in love with the bounty of summer!

OIC early summer garden has provided fresh vegetables for healthy cooking demonstrations and enough food for students to take home to nourish their families.

As the OKC heat index continues to rise OIC’s garden is popping off. Ripe sweet red tomatoes and cool crisp cucumbers are dancing on the vine in the warm summer sun. So far this summer we have harvested:

  • Cucumbers

  • Beets

  • Radishes

  • Tomatoes

  • Kale

  • Spinach

  • Chard

  • Basil

  • Parsley

  • Rosemary

However, as we count down the summer months our juicy red tomatoes will eventually bow out to welcome our fall blooms.  There’s still plenty of tasty things to grow! We need your help for an awesome fall harvest. Please donate today! We are seeking monetary donations and in-kind donations of vegetables, herbs, perennials, and annual seeds, potting soil, trellises, garden equipment (shovels, hoes, clippers) and your time, garden knowledge, and a green thumb.
