OIC’s Spring Fundraiser Launch Today!

March is for Fundraising!

OIC launched our Spring 2018 fundraising campaign today

& we are excited about new courses and workshops this month! OIC would not exist without our generous and dedicated donors – YOU! We are planning a beautiful Gala with a special keynote address by motivational speaker and community advocate, Lee Roland. The event is March 29th, 2018 at The Credit Union House tickets are 50$ a plate. If you would like to get a head start on your Spring giving, consider making an additional gift of support Now!

400,000 adult Oklahomans do not have a high school diploma.  31% of adults in our state function at basic literacy levels, and 12% function below basic literacy. These statistics result in workers who are unprepared to meet the demands of a changing workforce. OIC programs provide Oklahomans with literacy and education tools that prepare learners to confidently transition to college, career tech, military and the workforce.

NEW!! Courses beginning March 5th, 2018

Conversational English for Non-native speakers and Citizenship Course!

Free classes to help you learn the English words and phrases to function in the US. The course is structured around teaching themes which provide English survival skills using real-life American cultural experiences (such as the post office, grocery store, bank, restaurant etc.)

Additionally, for interested students, there is a weekly citizenship component conducted in partnership with OCU.  Students have an option to choose both classes or just one or the other. Many adults attend citizenship classes throughout OKC. OIC’s classes will help learners improve their English skills in preparation for the US citizenship exam.
