TOP Ladies of Distinction Inc. Annual Spring Clothing Closet is open to shop!
TOP Ladies of Distinction Inc. (TLOD) is a professional humanitarian organization, they have a chapter located in Oklahoma City. I was fortunate to speak with our local chapter president, Lady Anne Allen about the inspiring work that TOP ladies do for our community. Mrs. Allen has been a Top Lady for 10 years and has been the OKC chapters president for 4 years. The TOP Ladies of Distinctions theme is to,
“Invest in V.A.L.U.E.S that support, enhance, and sustain.”
TLOD objectives include; a focus on youth (known as Top Teens of America), improving the status of women, service to senior citizens, community beautification, and community partnerships. The organization has partnered with the Oklahoma Black Museum and Performing Arts Center in developing a placemaking project to help beautify our neighborhoods. Placemaking is a grassroots collaborative community process and a fresh approach to revitalizing neighborhoods like Uptown, 23rd street.
They work with city planners to add murals, sculptures, and plants gleaned from black farmers and artists.
This week the TOP Ladies of Distinction have graced OIC by opening their clothing closet. Right on time for Easter! The ladies have opened the clothing closet for All OIC STUDENTS, ALUMNI and FRIENDS & FAMILY of students and alumni. Everyone is welcome to shop for free! The TOP Ladies’ take pride in being professional women with a keen eye for professional style. TOP ladies have chosen beautiful garments to fit, improve, and enhance the women of OIC. They want to collaborate with us because they realize that; “The women of OIC are preparing for the world of work and they don’t want clothing to be a barrier.”
