Student Info
There is no cost to be in the OIC tutoring program.
Students must be at least 16 years old to participate in the one-on-one tutoring program. If you are 17 years or under, we will need your parents written permission to participate.
Our program is based on the student’s need. Students often have a specific goal in mind, such as learning to read the newspaper, write letters, figure out grocery ads or start down the road to achieving a GED. Lessons and curriculum are directed by student goals. At OIC, it’s ALL about the student and how he or she learns best.
Give us a call at 405-236-2651. We will schedule an appointment to discover your reading level and talk about your goals. After that, the Coordinator will set up a meeting with you, the tutor, and the Coordinator. The Coordinator will supply the suggested materials and help set up the first tutoring session with your tutor. You will then begin your learning adventure!
Believe it or not, tutors are nervous too. To begin with, a 3-way meeting is set up between the Coordinator, tutor, and you, where you will get to know each other and work on a schedule for tutoring.
